Job summary

Labcorp in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, is hiring a Laboratory Technician to join a team dedicated to high-quality laboratory work. You will help maintain cleanliness, prepare reagents, and support flow cytometry and basic cell culture activities under supervision.

The role provides training and the chance to grow in a leading life sciences company. A strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and flexibility is essential, with potential weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have GCSEs with grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lab cleanliness, supplies and tidiness, including waste disposal and reagent prep.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and records.
• Prepare consumables for standard assays in the base lab area.
• Record and data-check study and laboratory raw data.
• Prepare materials and solutions required for assays.
• Archive non-study data and equipment metrology records.
• Perform sample processing procedures for Flow Cytometry assays.
• Learn basic cell culturing procedures.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday – 37hrs

Job Responsibilities

• Responsibility to maintain lab cleanliness, supplies and tidiness (cleaning, calibrations, reagent prep and disposal, waste disposal etc.)
• Maintain laboratory equipment and equipment records within laboratory areas
• Assists in the preparation of consumables for standard assay(s) being performed in base lab area
• Learns to accurately record and data check study and laboratory raw data
• Assists with the preparation of materials and solutions required to perform the assays
• Assists with the archiving of non-study data, equipment metrology records
• Assists with performing sample processing procedures associated with Flow Cytometry assays
• Learns to perform basic cell culturing procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• GCSEs of grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science

Additional Job Standards

• All tasks will be performed with minimal supervision on satisfactory completion of training
• Ability to work flexibly including occasional weekends
• Excellent attention to detail
