HAR Labcorp Early Development Laboratories Limited is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The role involves preparing assays, maintaining equipment, and ensuring GLP-compliant laboratory operations.

You will support the genetics toxicology team, manage simple solutions and documentation, and participate in safeguarding accurate data and record-keeping. Training will be provided and the workload includes occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications

• GCSEs of grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science.

Responsibilities

• Conducts prep work for all departmental assays as assigned.
• Maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment within all laboratory areas and maintains Storage units on accordance with GLPs SOPs and polices.
• Records equipment metrology as required.
• Ensures that plentiful consumable items, media and stock chemical solutions are available in the laboratories as required.
• Jointly responsible for the removal of laboratory waste, disposal of expired solutions or materials.
• Washing, drying and sterilisation of laboratory glassware and consumables.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals and accurately record associated raw data.
• Preparation of simple solutions, buffers and Media’s.
• Assists with the archiving of non-study data and equipment metrology records.
• With training mentoring of new hires with regulated laboratory practices.

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant – 12 month fixed term contract to join our team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• All tasks will be performed with minimal supervision on satisfactory completion of training
• Ability to work flexibly including weekends; within a team and independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• All training will be provided and this is a great first step for anyone looking to get into the industry.

You will be joining a team who are supportive, collaborative and really work together to ensure the companies goals are met. May be on call after hours to respond to storage unit alarms.

Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant who will do the preparation of simple solutions and equipment for the genetic toxicology team, providing complete documentary evidence of tasks performed in the laboratory.
