Job summary

I & F Limited (T/A Skills4Group) is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician Apprentice in Leatherhead to join our laboratory team. This role offers hands-on training while earning a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, focusing on testing, sample preparation and keeping a clean, safe workspace.

You'll work under supervision, develop data recording skills, and gain practical experience with laboratory equipment and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths, English and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.
• Basic writing and numeracy skills required.
• Familiarity with computers and keyboarding is desirable.

Leatherhead, KT22 - We are looking for a motivated and practical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join our laboratory team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, developing hands‑on laboratory skills while working towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.

Personal Qualities

• Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule
• Writing and numeracy skills
• Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills
• Word, Excel, Access – statistics, graphs, data analysis
• General awareness of importance of safety, and in particular safety issues of working in a laboratory.

Because of the technical experience you will gain from working in a laboratory, you will gain skills which many graduates have yet to develop. If you have practical ability, ability to solve problems and good communication skills there are opportunities for progression towards higher qualifications.

About the role

As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day work of the laboratory, assisting with testing, preparing samples and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. You will be trained and supported throughout the apprenticeship.

Key duties include:

• Assisting with laboratory tests and experiments under supervision
• Preparing samples, materials and equipment for testing
• Accurately recording results and maintaining laboratory records
• Cleaning, maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
• Following health & safety procedures and quality standards

Working as part of a team to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
