Job purpose
A new opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join our Facilities Team in Nottingham. This role is based on-site, and the post holder will be expected to be in the office five days per week.
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician will play a pivotal role, working closely with the wider facilities team and scientists to ensure that our laboratories are fully stocked, enabling our scientists to carry out their important work. They will be responsible for maintaining stock levels of chemicals, solvents, consumables, and department-specific supplies, ensuring inventory is up to date. This will include tracking and ordering goods, using relevant systems to manage tasks and monitor shipments.
The Laboratory Technician will also be responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of various scientific equipment ensuring Health and Safety standards are followed at all times. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
