Job Summary

Role: Lab Technician – Permanent
Location: St Austell - Cornwall
Hours: 37.5h M-F
Starting Salary of £24,409

Are you a science enthusiast working in a Lab environment?
As a Lab Technician with Imerys, no two days are the same. You will work on research-based projects, providing technical support primarily for new product development and technical service in the paints and coatings markets.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conducting laboratory experiments within a framework agreed by a senior scientist.
  • Providing technical service support under the supervision of a senior technician or scientist.
  • Supporting new product development and innovation, contributing ideas and products to the market.
  • Preparing samples, conducting tests according to approved methods, analyzing and validating results, reviewing and repeating tests as necessary.

You will: Be offered professional development to understand the roles of minerals used in Paints and Coatings and possess the following skills:

  • A level/ equivalent in sciences (chemistry, physics, maths, geology) or above.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, especially regarding Health and Safety.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry/materials.
  • Experience in scientific experimentation from college or similar settings.
