Job summary

The University of Brighton is seeking an organised Assistant Technician to join the Department of Pharmacy and Biosciences on a 16 month fixed term contract. This role supports laboratories and technical facilities, helping deliver teaching and research within a busy university environment.

You will maintain glassware stocks, equipment, and safe working areas, assist technical staff and researchers, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Good practical skills and comfort with equipment, tools and machinery.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory glassware and ensure it is cleaned and returned.
• Keep supplies of laboratory consumables stocked.
• Clean and prepare laboratory facilities, storage areas and equipment.
• Support the operation of laundry services and stock management.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and in accordance with procedures and regulations.
