Job summary

The University of Lancashire invites applications for a Laboratory Technician to join our Technical Services team at Burnley Campus, supporting undergraduate laboratories across Biology and Physiology.

You will set up and prepare laboratories, provide day-to-day technical support and advice to staff and students studying biology and physiology, and assist with maintenance of equipment and software. A commitment to health and safety and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a Science subject or equivalent experiential learning.
• Recent laboratory experience with good practical skills.
• Good customer service and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and preparation of laboratories.
• Provide day-to-day technical support and advice to staff and students.
• Coordinate maintenance and configuration of equipment and relevant software.
• Assist with introduction of new technologies, procedures and practices.
