Laboratory Manager – Organic & Inorganic

Title: Organic & Inorganic Team Leaders & Lab Managers
Location: Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, South East
Duration: Permanent

My client is a UKAS 17025 accredited laboratory and they are looking for an Organic Lab Manager and also an Inorganic Lab Manager. The client has invested in their laboratories, with a spectrum of instrumentation in organic and inorganic analysis and they are a market leader when it comes to lean and efficiency principles backed up with good customer service.

The Lab Managers will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day technical aspects of the organics/inorganics team with accountabilities in:

1. Non-conformances
2. Troubleshooting of instrumentation, processes and methods
3. Maintenance of quality systems including root cause analysis
4. Assistance in maintenance programmes for the Department's specific analytical instrumentation and any other analytical equipment used by the Department
5. Maintenance, storage and labelling of adequate stocks of reagents, standards and consumables
6. Consultation with the Divisional Manager when turnaround deadlines cannot be met
7. Managing a team of analysts, senior analysts, and team leaders
8. Dealing with all HR and recruitment activities

Requirements

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
2. Experience of working within a high throughput laboratory
3. Knowledge of quality control processes
4. Analytical and problem-solving abilities
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
6. Management and leadership skills
