An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Healthcare Scientist to join our laboratory team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with proven leadership abilities to oversee our Quality Management System and Training and Education Programme across all laboratory disciplines, including support for Point of Care services. The successful candidate will work well within teams and lead the work of the Quality and Training Teams, especially during UKAS Inspections.
This role is based on Monday - Friday core hours, with occasional requirements outside these hours based on service needs. Visits to the laboratory are strongly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Liz Kilgour, Microbiology Laboratory Manager.
The laboratories are busy, well-equipped departments providing services to the Acute Hospital, Community Hospitals, and General Practices in Forth Valley. Departments include Microbiology (including Molecular Diagnostics/Virology), Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/Transfusion, and Point of Care Services. This is a multidisciplinary role covering accreditation in all laboratory disciplines.
Knowledge of UKAS ISO 15189 (2022) standards is essential. Current accreditation status includes:
