Job summary

Diagnexia is seeking a Lab Systems Engineer to own and optimize the lab's information systems, scanners, automations and cloud integrations. This hands-on role emphasizes end-to-end responsibility, testing, validation and safe change control in a fast-paced pathology environment.

You will collaborate with IT, information security and supplier teams to deliver reliable, compliant services aligned with UKAS ISO standards and our growing digital pathology platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring, running and maintaining a LIMS/LIS.
• Experience in hospital, pathology or regulated healthcare setting.
• Experience integrating lab systems with cloud or SaaS and other systems.
• Track record upgrading and changing in a live, business-critical environment.
• Experience managing software suppliers and delivery dates.
• Habit of monitoring, recovery and documentation as part of daily work.

Responsibilities

• Own the lab systems end to end: the lab information system, scanners, automations, servers, network and the integrations with our cloud platform.
• Own the release cycle for lab systems: impact assessment, testing, validation, rollback planning and the go or no-go decision. Your first priority will be making upgrades to our core lab systems safe and predictable.
• Lead service recovery when something goes wrong: restore the service, then find and fix the root cause.
• Manage our lab software suppliers, agree priorities and support availability, and hold them to agreed dates.
• Plan downtime and change windows with the lab so turnaround time is protected.
• Put monitoring, disaster recovery and business continuity in place, and keep the documentation and evidence our accreditations need (UKAS ISO 15189, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, NHS DSPT).
