Job summary

Lonza in Slough is seeking a hands-on professional to connect high-throughput lab instruments and automation platforms to our data systems, supporting critical R&D operations in a fully on-site environment.

You will collaborate with scientists, automation engineers, IT/OT teams, and external vendors to establish reliable interfaces, map data structures, and automate metadata capture across labs. This role emphasizes practical connectivity, robust testing, and scalable documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with connecting laboratory instruments to data systems.
• Background in automation integration or lab informatics (LIMS/ELN/SDMS).
• Ability to implement REST APIs, SQL, SFTP data transfers.

Responsibilities

• Drive hands-on technical delivery to connect lab instruments and automation platforms to data systems.
• Collaborate with scientists, automation engineers, IT/OT teams, and vendors to establish interfaces.
• Map data structures and reduce manual data entry across R&D labs.
• Configure connections using REST APIs, SQL, SFTP, or middleware patterns.
• Ensure automated capture of metadata like sample/run IDs and timestamps.
• Test integrations end-to-end and troubleshoot network/hardware/software issues.
• Document integration patterns and data mapping protocols for scale-up.
