Job summary

Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker in the Patient Services Laboratories team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The role provides essential technical and administrative support to Biomedical Scientists and Practitioners, contributing to transfusion and laboratory services across the North of Scotland.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, handling samples, maintaining records, and adhering to procedures to ensure quality, safety and patient

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage workload.
• Willing to undertake laboratory-based training and mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare samples.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Monitor stock levels.
• Handle biological specimens safely and support the issue and management of blood products under supervision.
