Job summary

AbBaltis, a growing life sciences company, is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join the Laboratory team in a full-time, permanent role in Sittingbourne. You will be involved in the receipt, processing and storage of human plasma and serum, helping maintain quality, traceability and compliance.

The role offers a starting salary of £13 per hour (£25,350 per annum) with opportunities for progression as the business grows and offers training and development to expand your laboratory skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience is required, ideally around one year.
• Experience handling biological samples would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process and prepare human plasma and serum materials.
• Aliquot plasma and serum samples accurately and in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Use standard laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, pipettes, autoclaves and biosafety cabinets.
• Label plasma and serum vials accurately and maintain full sample traceability.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update relevant databases and spreadsheets.
• Pack and prepare biological samples for domestic and international shipment in accordance with applicable requirements, including IATA regulations.
