Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is recruiting for a Higher Healthcare Technical Officer in the Red Cell Immunohaematology Reagents Production Laboratory. You will learn, contribute to manufacturing, dispensing and labeling of diagnostic products and support colleagues as part of a dedicated team.

Extensive induction and training are provided, with opportunities for ongoing development and progression within NHSBT’s Reagents area.

Qualifications

• A level or NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications OR extensive experience in logistics/supply chain OR equivalent NHSBT procedures knowledge.
• Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and working effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, dispense and label in vitro diagnostic products from blood donation components and related chemicals.
• Follow written instructions to ensure services meet standard processes and good practice; maintain accuracy of records.
• Provide support and training to less experienced staff when trained and competent.
• Handle equipment and consumables daily, weighing up to 13 kg, with appropriate training.
• Maintain documentation across all aspects of the job role.
