Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories – Central Laboratory Service in the UK is seeking an Associate Manager to lead a laboratory team, ensuring high-quality operational delivery and adherence to safety standards. You will mentor staff, drive CAPA and quality initiatives, and work closely with management to resolve workload and technical issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a Human Biology based science, 4 years in a clinical lab or trials environment, and proficiency with LIMS and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Biology based science is required.
• 4 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory or clinical trials environment.
• Experience in technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with LIMS and other laboratory data systems.
• Familiarity with CAPA processes and quality systems.
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex data.
• Ability to coordinate and execute multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
• Ability to write scientific and technical documents.
• Understanding of LEAN 6 Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of lab staff and set day-to-day operational activities.
• Mentor and manage staff performance, training, and hiring under management guidance.
• Meet with staff and senior management to resolve workload and technical issues.
• Drive safety accountability and improve safety initiatives.
• Review laboratory metrics and drive process improvements, including cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and safety requirements.
