Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to provide clinical and technical supervision of medical laboratory staff to meet daily testing demands and maintain departmental operations. The role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other practitioners, and may perform bench testing as needed to support MT/MLT duties.

Requirements include 7 years of related laboratory experience, plus a preferred 1 year supervisory background and CP-BC certification.

Qualifications

• 7 years related experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• 1 year Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• CP-BC - Clinical Pathologist-Board Certified - American Board of Pathology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Oversees daily operations and supervision of technical staff in the laboratory, including the appraisal of performance and providing regular and annual performance feedback.
• Supervises the production and performance of bench testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Has administrative oversight of personnel-related duties, including maintaining employee records and timesheets, anticipating laboratory supply and staffing needs, and preparing work schedules to achieve cost effective utilization of resources.
• Develops and maintains laboratory guidelines and procedure manuals to ensure effective instrument and equipment use as well as quality control of testing.
