Job summary

Hemel Hempstead-based manufacturer seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and modify laboratory equipment for chemical research and development. The role involves design, assembly, testing, and potential integration with piping, Swagelok fittings, valves and sensors.

You will work within a team to define project scope, ensure technical feasibility, and manage multiple priorities. Strong hands-on assembly experience, 3D CAD proficiency (Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks) and the ability

Qualifications

Experience with 3D CAD Packages preferably Autodesk Inventor (Solidworks, or similar is a possibility)
Experience with tight tolerance design engineering and producing suitable engineering drawings for outsourced manufacture
Proven background in assembly and use of hand tools, machine tools and CNC equipment
Ability to effectively work on and manage many projects and priorities at one time
A track record of getting things done on time, within tight deadlines and on budget
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) email and use of the Internet

Responsibilities

Define project scope with stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility.
Select and maintain production, test and quality control equipment required for supply of mechanical parts.
Assemble and test mechanical parts; manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ensure work is completed on time, within deadlines and budget.
Coordinate with departments to maintain quality and delivery timelines.
