Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking a permanent Enforcement Officer to join our General Licensing team, based at Shearbridge Depot. The role involves enforcing licensing requirements across alcohol sales, gambling premises and street trading, providing a responsive licensing service, and helping regulate a broad range of licensable activities in our city.

• Assist in the enforcement of statutory and local licensing requirements, regulations and conditions.
• Provide advice and support to members of the public, elected members and external partners, while operating with the terms of UK GDPR
• Deal with licensees, prospective licensees and members of the public in a fair, firm and professional manner, providing help and guidance as appropriate.
• Undertake field based enforcement to ensure compliance with various licensing schemes within the remit of the service and the timely payment of fees and charges in relation to all licensable activities.

Job description

Our General Licensing team is based at Shearbridge Depot, providing a vital service to the district. We administer licence applications in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions and the Council’s policies and procedures. The main responsibility of the post is to provide an effective and responsive licensing service which is responsible for the regulation of various licences and permissions, including alcohol sales, gambling premises and street trading. We are looking for a permanent Enforcement Officer to join our dedicated Licensing team. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
