Job summary

American Express is seeking a Manager of GMNS KYC Operations to join the Global Governance, Risk, Remediation, & Operations (GRRO) team. You will support market-level regulatory implementation, build robust financial crimes processes, and ensure effective policy deployment across the organization.

The role involves remediating issues, coordinating with multiple functions, and enhancing risk controls within a fast-paced network.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial crime, Operational Excellence, Operational Risk or related discipline.
• Experience in business process improvement and change design.
• Proven project management skills with urgency for driving large projects forward.
• Proven analytical skills, with qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with a broad network of colleagues to drive issue identification and resolution.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work across teams and build relationships.
• Strong communicator, with experience engaging with senior management.
• Desire to learn and continuously seek industry best practices and creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support local market financial crimes data gaps closure with PM and stakeholder collaboration.
• Contribute to defining and planning merchant refresh strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Identify, assess, prioritise and manage risks and issues promptly.
• Oversee and coordinate projects, maintain documentation and leadership reporting.
• Develop end-to-end process documentation for new or expanded processes.
• Provide status updates, risks/issues and resolutions clearly.
• Build proactive relationships across 1st and 2nd lines.
• Contribute to colleague engagement programmes.
