Job summary

BT Group’s Network Cloud team seeks a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build and operate scalable Kubernetes-based platform capabilities across BT’s private cloud. This hands-on role blends platform development, automation and operations to maintain a secure, reliable environment for BT network services.

You will work in a hybrid model (3 days in-office) across Manchester, Ipswich or London, implementing IaC, CI/CD, GitOps and lifecycle management using Terraform, Ansible, Rancher/RKE2

Qualifications

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with private cloud/on-prem platforms and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities in BT private cloud.
• Develop and maintain platform automation using IaC and software engineering practices.
• Manage deployment, upgrade and lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters and services.
• Integrate networking, monitoring, logging and security into the platform.
• Support reliability via proactive improvements and incident handling.
