Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a KS3 Teacher to support children and young people with a variety of learning needs using a creative, flexible and holistic approach to raise attainment.

The role involves planning and delivering 1:1 tailored lessons, supporting students with SEN, and engaging disengaged learners. The position is based in Wakefield with typical hours 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent (including PGCE).
  • UK classroom teaching experience.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply; able to provide references from last two years.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to boost engagement and attainment.
  • Support students with SEN and adopt a nurturing, patient approach.
  • Teach core subjects as required and engage disengaged learners.

Job description

We are looking for KS3 Teacher who is eager to work with children and young people with a variety of learning needs with a creative, flexible and holistic approach to raise attainment and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.

The Opportunity

This KS3 Teacher role is perfect for someone looking to step away from the classroom and make a difference to the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The successful tutor must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to boost engagement and attainment levels. They must also have significant experience supporting students with SEN and must apply a nurturing and patient approach in their practice.

Contract/Position Details:
  • Location - Within Wakefield, takes place in pupils home, public spaces or at schools
  • Position - Teacher to support with core subjects (Math, English, Science, etc)
  • Start date - ASAP
  • Hours - Working hours can differentiate, typically between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
To be eligible for this role:
  • QTS or equivalent (including PGCE)
  • Possess UK classroom teaching experience
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide professional references covering you for the last two years.
