Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties in Key Stage 3 at a Birmingham school.

You will provide 1-2-1 and class support, implement tailored strategies, and work closely with the SEN team to promote learning, social development and wellbeing. A patient, proactive approach and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and MLD.
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to support both academic and social development.
  • Genuine passion for working with young people with SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-2-1 support for pupils with Autism and MLD.
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 classes.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
