Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties in Key Stage 3 at a Birmingham campus. You will provide 1-2-1 and whole-class support, helping pupils access learning and reach their potential.

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN staff, you will implement tailored strategies to promote learning, social development and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly Autism and MLD.
  • Patient, empathetic, proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to support both academic and social development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-2-1 support for pupils with Autism and MLD.
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 classes.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Work with teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
