Job summary

Westfield Academy is recruiting for a KS3 SENCO to lead SEN provision across Years 7–9 and ensure high-quality support for students with SEND. You will work with the SENCO, Heads of Year and staff to identify needs, monitor progress and implement effective strategies within the APDR framework.

You will oversee EHCP provision, coordinate access arrangements and liaise with families and external professionals to promote inclusive practice and progression for KS3 students.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• NASENCO or NPQ SENCO or equivalent
• Degree or recognised qualification
• Evidence of recent SEND-focused professional development

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND provision across KS3 (Years 7–9) under the SENCO
• Identify and support KS3 students with SEND
• Oversee APDR cycles and EHCP provisions
• Line manage Learning Support Assistants and deploy LSAs
• Coordinate with parents, external bodies and staff
