Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Face-to-Face Tutor to support KS3 and KS4 pupils in the Pickering area of North Yorkshire. This role focuses on re-engaging learners with education through structured 1:1 tuition.

You will deliver personalised tuition in Maths and English, work with pupils with SEN/SEMH, build positive relationships, and liaise with schools and support teams. The role typically offers 10–15 hours per week, in schools, community settings, or the learner's home.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring KS3/KS4.
• Confident delivering Maths and/or English.
• Patience, adaptability and a calm approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour management.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Maths and English.
• Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH needs or gaps in education.
• Build positive professional relationships.
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies.
• Liaise with schools and support teams as required.
