Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Face-to-Face Primary Tutor to support KS1 and KS2 pupils in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Sessions are typically 8–10 hours per week, delivered 1:1 in schools, community settings, or learners' homes to re-engage with education.

You will deliver personalised tuition in English and Maths, tailor sessions to individual needs, and monitor progress while liaising with schools and support teams as required.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring KS1/KS2.
• Confident delivering English and Maths.
• Patience, adaptability and a calm approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Hold DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
• Have legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Primary Tutor - Scarborough Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Face-to-Face Primary Tutor to support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils in the Scarborough area of North Yorkshire.This is a rewarding opportunity to work with learners who need additional support to re-engage with education, rebuild confidence and make progress in core subjects. Many pupils benefit from structured, consistent 1:1 tuition outside mainstream classrooms.Most students receive 8-10 hours of tuition per week. Sessions may take place in schools, alternative provisions, community settings or the learner's home.

The Role

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and wider primary curriculum areas
• Plan engaging sessions tailored to individual needs
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH needs or gaps in education

• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies

The Ideal Tutor Will:

• Have experience teaching or tutoring in KS1 or KS2
• Be confident delivering English and Maths
• Demonstrate patience, adaptability and a calm approach
• Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Hold QTS, QTLS, PGCE or relevant experience (desirable)
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply
• Have the legal right to work in the UK

Pay: £30 - £35 per hour
