Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Face-to-Face Primary Tutor to support KS1 and KS2 pupils in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Sessions are typically 8–10 hours per week, delivered 1:1 in schools, community settings, or learners' homes to re-engage with education.

You will deliver personalised tuition in English and Maths, tailor sessions to individual needs, and monitor progress while liaising with schools and support teams as required.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring KS1/KS2.
• Confident delivering English and Maths.
• Patience, adaptability and a calm approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Hold DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
• Have legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and wider primary curriculum areas.
• Plan engaging sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH needs or gaps in education.
• Build positive relationships to improve confidence and engagement.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies.
• Liaise with schools, local authorities and support teams as required.
