Job summary

Aston Community Education Trust, Aston Academy, is seeking an enthusiastic KS3/4 Counsellor/Learning Mentor to join the Inclusion team. You will support students facing barriers to learning, with a focus on SEMH, wellbeing, and attendance.

You will plan and deliver 1:1 and group interventions, liaise with parents and external services, and maintain confidential records in line with safeguarding policies. The role requires a diploma-level counselling qualification and BACP registration.

Qualifications

• Diploma-level counselling qualification and BACP membership/registration.
• Experience supporting children/young people in a school or education setting.
• Ability to plan and deliver counselling interventions for KS3/KS4.
• Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining confidential records.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group counselling for KS3–4 students.
• Deliver tailored interventions to support SEMH and wellbeing.
• Liaise with parents and external agencies to support attendance and achievement.
• Maintain confidential notes and follow safeguarding policies.
