Job summary

Ocean Academy, Poole, invites applications for a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant. The role supports KS2 pupils, including those with SEND, in a fluid, responsive environment. A minimum NVQ Level 2/3 is desirable; strong English and maths skills, punctuality and reliability are essential.

The post is fixed-term to 21 July 2027, term-time only, with 8:30–15:30 hours. The school offers a supportive team, professional development, and a culture of collaborative leadership.

Qualifications

• Have a minimum of NVQ Level 2/3 qualification (desirable).
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Have excellent written and verbal English and maths skills.
• Adhere to the professional standards for teaching assistants.
• Promote the ethos of the school.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in class for groups of children and, sometimes, a 1:1 pupil.
• Support KS2 pupils and those with SEND as needed.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
