Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2 at a friendly primary school in Bishopston. You will work with children aged 7–11 in class and small groups, helping to build confidence, literacy and numeracy, and providing one-to-one support where needed.

The role emphasizes patient, reliable, and adaptable approach, with opportunities to contribute to school life.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in schools, childcare, sports coaching, youth work or similar settings.
• Comfortable supporting children aged 7–11.
• Patient, positive and approachable.
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient and calm in challenging situations.
• Experience supporting SEND or SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Key Stage 2 classrooms.
• Work with small groups to reinforce literacy and numeracy skills.
• Provide one-to-one support where required.
• Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
• Support children with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.
• Assisting with transitions, playtimes and other aspects of the school day.
• Work closely with teachers to support pupil progress.
