Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a General Teaching Assistant + SEN support for KS2 at Ellesmere Primary School. This full-time temporary role runs until 31 August 2027, with potential for extension, and delivers 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks (term time plus PD days).

You will support pupils, the teacher and the school, promote inclusive learning, safety and welfare, and develop professional links with parents, carers and other agencies. DBS check required.

• To develop professional links with parents, carers and other agencies working with the school, the local community and the Trust.
• To contribute and plan for the preparation, delivery and evaluation of learning experiences that will enhance children’s physical, intellectual, emotional, social and moral development.

• To provide support for our youngest pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils.
• To encourage pupils to become independent learners, to ensure their safety and welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life.
