Job summary

You will support pupils across KS2, working with the class teacher to promote progress, independence and positive engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
• A patient, proactive approach and good communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively with teachers and other support staff.
• A clear understanding of safeguarding and the importance of children's welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' academic progress through classroom support and small-group activities.
• Encourage confidence, independence and perseverance when tackling challenges.
• Build positive relationships and promote respect, kindness and inclusion.
• Support pupils' social and emotional development and encourage positive behaviour.
• Help ensure every child feels listened to, valued and included.
• Assist with lesson activities and the preparation of classroom resources.
• Work alongside the class teacher to support learning and identify where pupils may need additional help.
• Help maintain a positive, organised and purposeful learning environment.
• Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, behaviour, equality and pupil well being.
