Job summary

Academics is recruiting for KS2 Teaching Assistants to support Key Stage 2 pupils across Worksop, Nottinghamshire on a flexible temporary basis from September 2026. Roles include day-to-day supply, short-term assignments or longer placements, with opportunities to secure school-based posts.

You will assist in delivering lessons, work with small groups, and support pupil wellbeing within a positive, inclusive learning environment. DBS checks and safeguarding training are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in a primary setting.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• DBS check via Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• Commitment to safeguarding and annual safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 2.
• Work with individuals and small groups to help pupils achieve learning goals.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children within a primary school or similar educational setting.
• A relevant Cache or NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
• A commitment to safeguarding and completing annual safeguarding training.
• The right to work in the UK.
