Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham from September 2026. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEND within Key Stage 2 and working with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored learning strategies.

The ideal candidate will have 1:1 and small group support experience for SEND pupils, with strong behaviour management and communication skills, and a patient, proactive approach to inclusive education.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential.
  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs.
  • Experience working with EHCPs is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND across Key Stage 2.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning styles and support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reviews.
