Job summary

Milk Education are recruiting for a caring, dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis, starting in September 2026.

You'll work with the class teacher and wider school team, providing 1:1 and small-group support, helping KS2 pupils develop confidence, independence and essential literacy and numeracy skills.

This role emphasises safeguarding, positive behaviour, and a collaborative, engaging classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in a primary school setting.
  • Experience supporting KS2 pupils.
  • Teaching Assistant or related qualification desirable.
  • Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support.
  • Genuine passion for helping pupils learn.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 with their learning and development.
  • Providing effective 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting the class teacher with planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional learning or behavioural support.
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Supporting children with SEND and ensuring they can access learning.
  • Assisting with interventions to support pupils' progress in literacy and numeracy.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to engage with their learning.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and the wider school team.
  • Supporting the overall positive and inclusive ethos of the school.
  • Contributing to safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Milk Education are recruiting for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis, starting in September 2026.

You'll be joining a supportive school community that is committed to providing children with the very best opportunities to learn, develop, and achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team, providing targeted support to pupils through 1:1 and small-group work, while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recent and relevant experience working within a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting pupils across KS2 is desirable
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or education qualification is desirable
  • Experience working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils
  • A genuine passion
