Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is recruiting an experienced KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham from September 2026. You will provide tailored support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and progress academically and socially.

The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEND across Key Stage 2, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs, with EHCPs and individual plans guiding strategies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential.
  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs.
  • Experience working with pupils who have EHCPs is desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Patient, nurturing and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND across Key Stage 2
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy and emotional wellbeing
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning styles and support plans
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reviews
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school team
