An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant! Step Teachers are working with a primary school inBarking and Dagenham to find a KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils from Years 4 & 5. As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will be key in helping children stay engaged and focused and supporting their learning journey. This role is set to beginin September 2025

KS2 Teaching Assistant - Role:

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Provide students one-on-one and small group support, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support students with varying abilities and learning needs, including those with special educational needs.
• Act as a positive role model for students, promoting appropriate behaviour and social skills.

KS2 Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a KS2 Teaching Assistant is essential.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities are crucial.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff and students.
• Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
• Experience with Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, etc. is required.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is desirable but not essential.
• SEND experience is essential.
