Job description

KS2 Teaching Assistants – Southwark

Helping young minds flourish, one lesson at a time.

If you’ve got a knack for explaining fractions, calming playground drama, or turning a rainy day into a learning adventure — you might just be the KS2 Teaching Assistant we’re looking for.

What’s the role?

We’re working with brilliant primary schools across Southwark who are on the lookout for supportive, energetic, and compassionate KS2 Teaching Assistants to join their classrooms. You’ll be that extra pair of hands (and eyes, and ears!) that helps lessons run smoothly and children feel seen, heard, and ready to learn.

Your days will include:
  • Supporting pupils in small groups and one-to-one

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivery

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment

  • Encouraging confidence and independence — especially when things get tricky

  • Being a cheerleader for every child’s progress (and maybe the occasional spelling test hero too)

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

  • A calm, caring approach and bucketloads of patience

  • A can-do attitude and a team spirit

  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in KS2 before or have a TA qualification
