Job summary

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Bristol is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our KS2 team. The post is fixed term, 31.25 hours per week during term time plus 5 inset days, with a salary on the BG6-BG8 scale (£19,829-£24,188).

You will support pupils across key stages, help with phonics and Read Write Inc, and work with teachers to promote independent learning and positive behaviour in a caring Christian ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary age children in both key stages.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment.
• Promote independent learning inside and outside the classroom.
• Thrive training for social and emotional development.
• Phonics knowledge and Read Write Inc (RWI) training.
• Observe pupil progress and provide feedback.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Kind, caring and enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS2 under teacher guidance.
• Assist with phonics and RWI delivery to groups and individuals.
• Contribute to planning and evaluation of learning activities.
• Help maintain a positive, orderly environment for learning.
