Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Higher-Level Learning Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils in a Darlington primary setting. The role focuses on small-group interventions and 1:1 support alongside teachers to keep pupils engaged and progressing.

The candidate should hold Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications, KS2 classroom experience and HLTA exposure, with strong English and maths and excellent classroom management. A proactive, professional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• KS2 classroom experience required.
• Level 3 TA or SLT qualification required.
• HLTA experience preferred.
• Strong English and maths knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS2.
• Lead small-group learning and interventions.
• Provide targeted 1:1 support as needed.
• Support English, maths, reading and wider curriculum.
• Help pupils develop independence and confidence.
• Support classroom routines and behaviour.
• Reinforce teacher-led learning and instructions.
• Adapt activities to learners' needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and feed back to teachers.
• Collaborate with the class teacher on lesson delivery.
• Take responsibility for agreed learning activities when required.
