Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Class-Based Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2 at a primary school in Cannock. This role involves assisting the class teacher during lessons and helping pupils with reading, writing and maths to make lessons accessible.

You will work with different abilities, adapt to each task, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment. Previous primary school experience is beneficial; a valid DBS is required or can be arranged.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a primary school would be beneficial, particularly KS2.
• Clear communication, initiative and adaptable approach are important.
• Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS is required or obtainable via Aspire People.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher during lessons and help activities run smoothly.
• Support pupils with reading, writing, maths and other KS2 areas.
• Provide explanations and break down instructions for tasks.
• Support small groups with revision and practice of newly learned skills.
• Encourage pupil participation in class discussions and presentations.
• Help maintain classroom organisation and complete tasks within time.
