The Role: KS2 Class Teacher with English Lead Focus
This is more than just a classroom teaching role-it's a chance to have a real impact across the school. You'll take on full teaching responsibilities in Key Stage 2 while also playing a central role in shaping and improving the delivery of English, particularly reading and writing, across all year groups.
Your enthusiasm and subject expertise will help drive literacy attainment and inspire a love of learning throughout the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and inclusive lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
- Create a positive, safe and supportive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
- Lead the development of English teaching across the school, supporting colleagues through coaching and collaborative planning
- Organise and contribute to reading and literacy initiatives and interventions
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting the school's ethos and values
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent, relevant experience in a KS2 classroom
- Proven impact on improving English outcomes, with a strong understanding of curriculum expectations
- A passion for literacy and the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- A reflective and ambitious mindset, always seeking ways to grow and improve professionally
