Job summary

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Supporting pupils with reading, writing and mathematics development
• Delivering phonics teaching and early reading support
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, colleagues and parents

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Supporting pupils with the development of reading, writing and mathematics
• Delivering phonics teaching and supporting early reading development
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Working effectively with Teaching Assistants, colleagues and parents
• Following school safeguarding, curriculum and behaviour policies

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or a UK primary school
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Knowledge and experience of phonics and early reading
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references
• Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
• Right to work in the UK
• Teachers undertaking short-term or long-term cover bookings are paid in line with the appropriate teaching pay scale from day one
