Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Watford, supporting pupils with additional learning needs to access the curriculum and achieve their targets.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and working alongside teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment. Term-time, full-time hours with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
• Understanding of ASD/ADHD and communication needs.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Strong interaction with children and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
• Assist children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and social-emotional challenges.
• Implement strategies from EHCPs and support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.
