Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northwood from January 2027. You will support KS1 pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and reach their potential within a caring, inclusive environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, collaboration with a strong team, and ongoing professional development through free CPD and SEN training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational settings is preferred.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for KS1 pupils with additional needs.
• Support children with SEN including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs.
• Assist class teacher with engaging and differentiated activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCO.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
