St Giles’ C.E Primary School is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils, particularly a designated child, in class and in small groups. The role includes a 30-minute daily lunch supervision and duties aligned with a dedicated classroom assistant.

The post holder will work with teachers to raise academic progress, promote positive behaviours, and may participate in safeguarding and DBS processes. Term: fixed for one year.

The Governors of St Giles’ C.E Primary School are looking to recruit an ambitious, dedicated and enthusiastic level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our school provision in the KS1 Department.

You will have responsibility for working alongside the classroom teacher and supporting a specific child on a 1:1 or small group basis to enhance pupil’s academic progression.

The role will also include working as a lunchtime supervisor for 30 minutes each day in addition to class teaching hours.

Working hours: 8:55am – 3:15pm (which includes unpaid breaks of 20 minutes in the morning and 1/2 hour lunch.) Flexibility in these hours can be discussed to fit with family commitments.

We are looking for a candidate who has :-

• A Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent:
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils:
• Dedication and enthusiasm, together with high expectations for every child to achieve their full potential
• Experience of delivering interventions and willingness to undertake a first aid qualification
• A sound understanding of how to promote positive learning behaviours
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build good relationships

Part of the duties of this post requires the postholder to support the child during the lunchtime period.
