Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils with a range of needs in South Ribble, Lancashire. This full-time role starts in October 2026 and offers steady classroom support in a nurturing primary setting.

You will assist with Autism and ADHD needs, employ de-escalation techniques, and help children access the KS1 curriculum at their own pace. DBS on Update Service is required or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum).
• Experience supporting children with SEN (Autism/ADHD) is essential.
• DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply) and two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Behavioural support: implement firm but fair boundaries and de-escalation strategies.
• Individualised care: support pupils with ADHD and Autism to stay engaged with tasks through creative and sensory adaptations.
• Inclusive learning: help children access the KS1 curriculum at their own pace, ensuring confidence and inclusion.
• Progress tracking: work with the SENCO to monitor development and EHCP goals.
