Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is assisting a high-achieving secondary school in Kirkham to recruit a Teaching Assistant for 1:1 support with a KS3/KS4 student who has additional learning needs.

The role focuses on personalised academic assistance, emotional resilience, and mainstream curriculum access within a supportive learning environment. You will work with the SENCo and pastoral staff to maintain a structured, positive classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEN in a secondary setting.
• Ability to build rapport and support 1:1 learning.

Responsibilities

• Targeted 1:1 support across core and foundation subjects, adapting materials to pupil pace.
• Promote emotional well-being with calm de-escalation strategies.
• Encourage independence and social inclusion without over-reliance on staff.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCo and parents to monitor progress against IEP/HCP outcomes.
• Support transitions between lessons and unstructured times.
