You will deliver small-group interventions, identify gaps in learning, and tailor sessions to pupil needs, while collaborating with the Year 6 team to raise attainment and confidence. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required and must be in Good Standing.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and KS2 SATs.
  • Experience teaching upper KS2, ideally Year 6.
  • Confident delivering targeted interventions in English and maths.

Responsibilities

  • Identify gaps in learning and adapt sessions.

Year 6 Intervention Teacher | SATs Support

West Ealing, West London | Full-time | Long-term temporary position. Start date: January 2027. Salary: Inner London pay scale, dependent on experience.

A primary school in West Ealing is looking for a confident and experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join its team from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, supporting pupils in the lead-up to their KS2 SATs. This role is focused on delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, helping them strengthen their understanding of key concepts in English and maths, build confidence and prepare for their end-of-KS2 assessments.

The school is looking for a teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements, who can identify gaps in learning and deliver focused sessions to help pupils make progress. You'll work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to ensure interventions are tailored to pupils' needs and complement their classroom learning.

The Role
  • Delivering small-group and targeted interventions across Year 6.
  • Supporting pupils with SATs preparation in English and maths.
  • Identifying gaps in learning and adapting sessions to address specific needs.
  • Reinforcing key curriculum concepts, including reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic and reasoning.

  • Helping pupils prepare for assessments while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.
