Job summary

Staffline is recruiting for Knife-hand/Cutter roles at Grimsby with early and late shifts (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm). Training pay starts at £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.96 after training, with opportunities for permanent roles via temp-to-perm arrangements.

Staffline offers onsite car park and public transport access. The job involves trimming fish to spec, maintaining food safety standards, and working in a fast-paced environment to maximise yield and minimise waste.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, recall and trim to set standard specifications across multiple products.
• Ability to complete repetitive movement of hands, fingers and wrists for averaging 8-10 hours daily.
• Follow all H+S training and safety protocols.
• Work flexibly to support all areas of the business when required.

Responsibilities

• Use trained knife skills to trim fish to set specifications while minimising waste.
• Handle and package products in line with food safety standards.
• Maintain clean and tidy work area adhering to GMP.
• Complete tasks efficiently to reduce waste and maximise yields.
• Report issues to management promptly.
• Support other areas of the business to meet service levels.

Knife-hand/Cutter at our clients two sites in

Grimsby house cutting edge facilities, with teams responsibly sourcing and processing salmon, whitefish and crustaceans, from around the world.

Staffline are currently recruiting for Knife-Hand/Cutters.

The hours of work are:

• Monday to Friday
• 6am to 2pm
• 2pm to 10pm

The rate of pay is:

Training:

£12.71 per hour

Post Training:

£13.96 per hour

Your Time at Work

As a Knife-hand / Cutter your role will include:

• Use trained skills to complete all tasks assigned by a member of the management team and ensure that quality, food safe products are produced for customers
• Using a knife to trim fish to a variety of differing specification requirements in a manner that minimises waste and improves yield
• Using appropriate knife safety at all times to ensure risk of cuts and lacerations is minimised to self and others
• Handle and package products in accordance with all relevant food safety standards
• To follow good manufacturing practices to ensure the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Complete tasks as efficiently as possible in order to reduce waste and downtime and maximise yields and profits reporting all issues to a member of the management team
